Use Routific’s API to automate the whole delivery process

If your orders live in a POS, online store, or ordering platform, you can now use Routific’s API to run the whole delivery day without needing to log into the web-based dispatcher app to schedule, dispatch, or close out stops.

Actions now available via the API include:

Switch between map and satellite views in the Routific mobile app

A standard map view doesn’t always make it clear where the best parking is or which building entrance to use. Drivers can now switch to satellite view inside the mobile app, so they can get a better sense of the environment around each stop.

Set driver break times

The new Routific now enables dispatchers to set break times for each driver, and plan routes around those breaks.

During delivery, drivers can see their scheduled break times in the app — and report the exact start and end times of their actual breaks. If there’s a difference between the scheduled and actual break times, Routific automatically adjusts the rest of the route plan to keep timing, ETAs, and customer notifications up to date.

Customize CSV exports

Routific offers an option to download route data as a CSV spreadsheet — and now it’s possible to choose exactly which columns are included in the download.

There are several scenarios where a CSV download may be needed. For example:

This is part of our ongoing project to make Routific as flexible as possible to meet our customers’ diverse business needs and priorities.

Allow drivers to re-order stops during a route

When planned routes meet real-world conditions on the road, drivers may need some flexibility. With Routific’s new driver workflow tools, dispatchers can allow drivers to re-order their stops, even after a route has started. There’s no need to call or wait for a new route plan — drivers can simply mark any stop “Go here first”.

There are many scenarios where this can be useful:

See exactly where a stop was marked as complete

Routific now saves the exact GPS location where a driver marks a stop delivered, missed, or reattempted. Inside your order details, you'll see the actual completion location plotted alongside the planned stop — so you can confirm a delivery happened where it should have, resolve disputes, and catch address mismatches.

Choose when you want customer notifications to be sent

The moment when a dispatcher publishes a route is not always the best time to send out a customer notification. For example, if you’re planning routes several days ahead you might not want to notify customers too early; or if the route is published late at night, you don’t want to disturb them. Now you can choose exactly when the “delivery scheduled” notification goes out: immediately when the route is published, or 30 minutes to 24 hours before the route actually starts.

Fine-tune ETA promises in customer notifications

Routific’s algorithm predicts a precise ETA, but when communicating a delivery window to customers you don’t want to create unrealistic expectations. For example, if your delivery ETA is 2pm and you want to give your customer a one-hour delivery window, 30 minutes before and after the ETA might set their expectation too early.

Now you can edit Routific’s customer notifications to set a more precise delivery window. So for the 2pm delivery, you can choose 15 minutes earlier than ETA for the earliest arrival, and 60 minutes after the ETA for latest arrival. The customer will get a message to expect their delivery anytime between 1:45pm and 3pm.

Routific app now available in Portuguese and Italian

The Routific mobile app for delivery drivers is now available in Portuguese and Italian.

Delivery drivers do not need to change anything in the Routific app. If the phone's language is set to one of our supported languages, the app will automatically use it.

Want to see another language supported?

If you or your drivers need the mobile app in another language, let us know. Email us at support@routific.com and tell us which language would be most helpful. Your feedback helps us prioritize what to build next.

Use webhooks to get real-time updates from Routific in your other systems

Most businesses use lots of different software systems to manage their operations: e-commerce storefronts, order management software, CRM systems, or their own dashboards.

Webhooks allow you to keep your other systems in sync with Routific automatically. Whereas an API requires your system to request information, webhooks push updates to you the moment something happens. For example, you might use webhooks to:

Routific currently supports three events: route published, route ETAs updated, and order status updated.

You'll need a developer to set up the receiving endpoint. Read more about how webhooks work in Routific.

Choose the date format for your customer notification

The differences between North American and other date formats can cause a lot of confusion: Is 02-06 the 6th of February or the 2nd of June?

Routific users can now choose the date format for their email or SMS notifications.

Customize your notifications

You can now edit customer notifications in Routific:

Connect Routific to your Shopify store

Use tags to apply business rules

Tags let you encode your real-world business logic into Routific.

You can use tags to ensure certain orders will be assigned to certain routes.

Common use cases include:

Improved customer name display

We’ve made some usability changes both to the dispatcher and mobile apps, most noticeably making the customer name more prominent in both views.

Save customer details

If you have recurring customers, it’s now possible to save their details to a master list you can reuse again and again. Delivery notes, names, and addresses stay attached to each customer, so nothing gets lost between runs.

La app móvil de Routific ahora está disponible en español

The Routific mobile app for drivers is now available in Spanish.

Drivers don’t need to change anything in the Routific app to use Spanish. If a driver’s phone is set to Spanish as the default language, the Routific mobile app will automatically appear in Spanish.

Barcode scanning

Even small delivery mistakes can create big problems: missed meals, frustrated customers, and drivers sent back out to fix errors. That’s why we’re introducing barcode scanning so drivers can scan packages at the door to confirm they’re delivering the right items to the right customer.

Copy routes

Rebuilding similar routes day after day is slow and error-prone. You can now copy an existing route to any date to stay consistent and save time!

Driver App updates

When plans change on the road, drivers need flexibility. Drivers can now:

Assign delivery dates per order

When orders aren’t tied to delivery days, planning ahead gets messy. You can now assign delivery dates to orders — including via bulk CSV upload — to keep routes aligned with your schedule.

Flexible constraints for handling overtime and late deliveries

Sometimes you need to bend the rules.

On busy days, you might log a little driver overtime, squeeze in a few extra packages, or deliver just outside the promised time window. That flexibility can make all the difference.

With Routific’s new flexible constraints, you decide how the system should handle those tricky situations:

Add new orders without re-optimizing

You can now add any number of orders into an existing route without re-optimizing what you’ve already planned.

Email verification for added security

If you’re using your email to log into Routific, you’ll be asked to verify that you own it. This extra step helps keep your data secure.

Now you can guide the flow of your routes by simply drawing on the map. Just point and click to show the preferred direction — it's that easy.

Driver familiarity

Routific tracks how often a driver has been assigned to a territory and scores their familiarity, helping you choose the right driver, since drivers can be up to 10% faster on roads they know well.

Updates to Routific Insights

Our new tool visualizes your route data so you can uncover trends, track performance, and export reports for any date range—whether it’s a week, a month, or a quarter.

Deliver out of sequence

Sometimes, drivers need to complete deliveries in a different order than what was planned. With our mobile app, they can now easily adjust the route on the go.

Re-attempt skipped stops

When drivers can't deliver on the first try, the Routific mobile app gives them the option to come back at a later time.

Driver analytics

The Insights page shows overall metrics for completed routes and breaks each metric down by driver.

Reverse routes

Dispatchers now have the option to reverse the sequence of routes to steer drivers away from high-traffic areas at certain times.

Insights and analytics

A new Insights page shows metrics for completed routes, and you can export route data across time frames for analysis.
